If there is anything my life has taught me- live each and every day- don’t waste it. Our lives are precious and who knows what is just around the bend. But sometimes we just don’t have time for a huge adventure. It is times like these, that I like to explore new areas close to home.
I spotted this viewpoint when I was heading to Latourell Falls so I decided to come back with my dogs Boomer and Jack to check it out. If you haven’t checked out my post on the falls- I highly recommend you give it a read. It is now one of my all time favorite hikes: https://myamazing2ndchapter.com/2020/07/29/latourell-falls-loop-trail-corbett-oregon/. You could easily do both of these adventures on the same day.

We did both the loop trail and the falls trail. The viewpoint trail is fairly flat and paved- anyone can enjoy this one. The Bridal Veil Trail is fairly easy and well maintained- but it is a little more of a hike. it is downhill all the way to the falls and uphill coming back. I did get a little winded on the way back- but there are some benches for you to relax and catch your breath if you need. But overall a easy hike. 😀
Just before the falls we played in the creek.. We all put our feet in the water. Jack gave me such a sad face when it was time to leave the creek. He loves the water! This was definitely his favorite part- maybe even better then the car ride!

This is a stunning water fall! There is a little trail down to the bottom of the falls and it looked like on a hot day you could cool off in the water down below. Definitely- will have to do that!

The overlook trail is beautiful as it gives you an opportunity to enjoy the true beauty of the Columbia Gorge! I feel so lucky to have this so close to home. It is approximately 20 minutes from the east end of Portland Metro Area.

This was a perfect way for me to take the dogs for a walk and help fill my need for a little bit of adventure. There is just something extra exciting about exploring a new trail. Lucky for me- I don’t have to go far to find a fun adventure. 😀
Thanks for letting me share my adventure with you! As always! I really do appreciate it if you give me your thoughts! Scroll to the bottom and leave a comment!
I really enjoy hearing about your little adventures. There are so many nice trails East of Portland. It’s great to learn more about them through your experiences. Keep this one in mind when I come to visit. It looks like it might possibly be easy enough for me.

It absolutely is one you could do! And we could stop by Lotourell falls while we are at it- even if you can’t do that full hike! Let’s plan on it!
